What first brought you to Becycle?

Ana: The passions for spinning! I came to Becycle as costumer first. To be honest I was very intrigued by the description of the instructors and their classes because I had been to other studios in the city but I wasn't quite satisfied with them. And from the first day I visited Becycle, I absolutely loved it!

What changes have you seen since you started working out and being instructor at Becycle?

Ana: I love working out and I love cycling! And when I arrived to Becycle I was able to go back to my routine, going to class at least 4 times a week. The difference when you start working out is huge, for whatever reason you do it, to look good or just feel good. I like exercising mostly to feel healthy, it gives me more energy to tackle my day and it keeps me active and happy at all times! And being an instructor at Becycle has taken that to the next level.

What are your resolutions or objectives for this year 2017?

Ana: We all have different types of objectives for the new year and I think it's very important to keep them in mind through out the year, to have a clear image of what we want to achieve. One of my personal goals is to travel more, take advantage of the opportunity that it is to live in this country with so many new places around to go and explore. And for that, I have to be healthier and more active than ever. So Becycle will help me work for my goals, give me the energy I need to balance life at work and life outside work as well.

Ana: I think the most important thing is to be consistent, to never give up! Sometimes we get lost in the way of getting what we want, so it helps me to have short term goals that will guide me to the ultimate objective. Baby steps are a great way of achieving this, it's like working towards your resistance in the bike; at the beginning you feel you can't handle that much resistance, that you're not ready, but after each class you push yourself a little more and suddenly you see yourself miles from where you started. That's it! Get out of your comfort zone because that's where the magic happens.

What first brought you to Becycle?

Noureddine: I joined Becycle at the very beginning of the adventure, I used to be instructor at Spinback for 2 years before. I joined cause I liked the studio, the location  and the freedom Becycle gave me. I was a runner before spinning and that freedom helps me to custom my classes to my needs as a runner and luckily people like it too...

What changes have you seen since you started working out and being instructor at Becycle?

Noureddine: I started spinning to add volume to my running training and compensate the lack of elevation I need to prepare my races. As I can't go every week in the mountains to train, I can easily adjust the resistance on the bike to partially simulate an outdoor run. That way I work power and endurance.

What are your resolutions or objectives for this year 2017?

Noureddine: First is to run the Marathon Des Sables in April (250km in the Sahara desert) then focus on going back to the basics. I want to get my flexibility back and try to do more sports, mostly outdoor(climbing, mtb,.etc) and endurance sports. I got a few ideas and projects in my head that I'd like to achieve in a near future.

Noureddine: Believe in yourself, be disciplined when needed and get out of your comfort zone.

We as human can achieve so much. Don't be afraid to hurt yourself (in a good way).

I always say that my body is like a baby that I have to educate, as soon as he got the message, I can go really hard on it till he's asking me more...and I go for it.

What first brought you to Becycle?

Ellen: The intense desire to do what I loved to do back home in the Netherlands.

What changes have you seen since you started working out and being instructor at Becycle?

Ellen: I’ve learned how to be strong. I can push myself past what I thought my limit was. Motivating others is always easier than motivating yourself, but when giving a class I’m not just pushing you ;)

What are your resolutions or objectives for this year 2017?

Ellen: Slow down, enjoy life, play outside and take in little things.

Could you share with us your personal tips to keep an effective routine to reach your goals?

Ellen: My routine is to relax my mind in this busy and speedy world of Shanghai. When spinning with strong beats that hypnotize me, I can clear my head, let go stress, breathe deep and increase my energy.

I think it’s important to know why and for whom you do it so you can reach new heights. Try to be your own instructor and try to push past perceived limitations every time you get on that spinning bike. Think in possibilities; motivate the mind and then the body follows.

What first brought you to Becycle?

Rachel: I first came to Becycle a year ago on the GuavaPass. I had done spinning before off and on for a few years, but I loved the friendly instructors and inclusive energy at Becycle. I saw the sign that they were looking for instructors, tried out, and have been loving instructing ever since!

What changes have you seen since you started working out and being instructor at Becycle?

Rachel: Being an instructor has drastically improved my fitness and confidence. I was fit before, but spinning is an insane cardio party that always demands more. It’s also helped me to overcome nervousness that is associated with presenting or leading a class, and push others to challenge themselves. No matter what kind of a day I’m having, spinning reduces stress and always leaves me feeling energized.

What are your resolutions or objectives for this year 2017?

Rachel: I don’t have resolutions per se, but I have some goals that I’m visualizing and working towards. This year I want to visit five new countries (two down!), read 50 books, learn how to design web pages, start a personal blog, and improve at rock climbing. Improving my Chinese is always on the list, but that’s going to be a lifelong endeavor!

Could you share with us your personal tips to keep an effective routine to reach your goals?

Rachel: A little self-discipline and boundaries go a long way. No one ever achieved anything difficult by being comfortable and pleasing everyone! Keep your goals in sight, make morning and night routines that help you get there, and don’t be afraid to say no or ask for help. Making boundaries for yourself and others will help you stay serious about your goals. Be kind to yourself and keep visualizing who want to become!

What first brought you to Becycle?

Felipe: When I came to Shanghai for the opening of Becycle, I saw an incredible opportunity the bring health and happiness to the people!

What changes have you seen since you started working out and being instructor at Becycle?

Felipe: My health improved really a lot. I'm a diabetic patient and since I spin between 4 and 5 times per week, I'm using less insulin and that's a big change in my life. I'm getting fitter with the cardio training and stronger when pushing with resistance on the bike.

What are your resolutions or objectives for this year 2017?

Felipe: I want to improve my nutrition and eating better and healthier. I want to keep a routine of 5 cardio sessions per week even if I'm not giving a class. I also want to strengthen my upper body and conditioning by adding 1-2 boxing and bootcamp sessions per week.
