Visitors will be able to stay in Beijing for six days visa free

Great news for your friends and family visiting China, the end of 2017 is planned to bring with it a six-day visa free stay in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.

The plans, which were announced by the Beijing vice-mayor last Thursday, are a massive improvement in terms of convenience and jolly-hols potential than the currently allocated 72-hour visa-free stay. Very similar regulations are already in place here in Shanghai, and visitors hoping to take advantage will have to have a valid travel document and outward travel tickets to scarper out of China once their stay is done. They'll also have to be from one of the 53 countries named under the new plans, which include the UK, France, Australia, Canada and the US.
