Round-up of 2015 sales performance of China's local brands

  • The majority of China's localauto brands made impressive achievements this year. China Automotive Newsrecently conducted a round-up of Chinese brands' remarkable achievements andsales target completion rates for 2015.

  • Changan Automobile sold 2.532million vehicles over the first eleven months of 2015, representingyear-on-year growth of 8.2%. Sales of Changan's local brand passenger vehiclesrose 30.3% on an annual basis to 930,000 units between Jan. and Nov. Changan'sChinese brands topped sales and output of 1 million units in Dec.

  • BAIC Group's local brandsreported total sales of 210,000 units over the first eleven months, up 11.7%from the same period the previous year. The automaker is playing a leading rolein the new-energy vehicle field. Its new-energy vehicle sales jumped almost 600%year-on-year to 17,000 units between Jan. and Nov.

  • GAC achieved cumulativesales of 1.1196 million vehicles over the first eleven months, thanks to salescontributions made by its local brands and GAC Honda. Sales of the Trumpchi GS4exceeded 100,000 units between Jan. and Nov.

  • Chery is expected tooutperform its sales target for 2015. The achievement is thanks to popularityof its wide range of high-quality products, including the Arrizo 5, Arrizo M7,and Tiggo.

  • Geely reported cumulativesales of 456,200 vehicles over the first eleven months, beating its 2015 sales targetof 450,000 units. Its strong sales growth was thanks to popularity of Emgrandand Borui models.

  • Great Wall Motors isexpected to achieve its sales target of 850,000 units for 2015, and to continueits sales championship in the domestic SUV segment. The automaker has launcheda red and a blue logo for its Haval brand, helping generate new marketsegments.
