Source: | Date: Oct. 17

  • A source recently revealed that Cai Jianjun, who assumes responsibility for Changan Automobile Group's after-sales service division, would replace Liang Guofeng to be Vice President of BAIC Motor, while Mr. Liang will return to Changan Auto to take responsibility for the group's other business division. An executive of BAIC Motor has confirmed the personnel changes, which will soon be announced.

  • One insider believes that Mr. Cai's successful experiences in building the DS brand is the main reason for BAIC Motor's appointment of Cai as Vice President. Cai is likely to be the head of the Senova brand's sales and marketing.

  • Figures show that BAIC Motor's indigenous brand auto sales were 308,000 units in 2014, a rise of 48.8% over a year earlier. The company expects to achieve the sales target of 400,000 indigenous brand vehicles this year, which means a 29.9% annual growth rate. According to the latest figures, however, the company's indigenous brand car sales were 71,000 units during the first nine months of this year, while its indigenous brand SUV sales were 17,000 units.

  • Cai's appointment is regarded as an important personnel change of BAIC to promote the development of its indigenous brand, Senova.
