  • Volvo reportedly will mass produce its largest-ever sedan called the S90L at its Daqing manufacturing base at the end of this year. To be built on the S90, this model is especially designed for the Chinese market. It will be produced on Volvo's SPA platform. It will compete with the Audi A6L and BMW 5 Series Li.

  • The all-new Lexus GS Series will feature more aggressive exterior design than its predecessors. Its bodywork is expected to be extended by 30mm. The new GS series is likely to use a 2.0L turbocharged engine to replace the current 2.5 naturally aspirated engine.

  • With upgraded powertrain, the brand-new Mercedes-Benz GLE SUV is set to hit the market on Oct. 19. The model that is powered by a 3.0T engine and a nine-speed automated manual transmission is expected to be the most popular variant in its lineup. The GLE will compete with the BMW X5 and Audi Q7.

  • As certain nine-speed automatic transmissions are incompatible with software control systems, Range Rover Evoque will reuse the six-speed automatic transmission to facilitate a smooth gear shift. At the same time, this model will feature a lower manufacturing cost.

  • A total of five new models under Ford and Lincoln brands are expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2015 in China, including four SUVs. There are the Ford Explorer, Ford Everest, Lincoln MKX, and Lincoln Navigator.
