Sales analysis of top ten passenger car sellers in Nov.

  • In Nov., China's passenger car market continued its upward trend, with sales jumping 24.1% year-on-year. The top ten passenger car sellers are SAIC-GM, Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC-GM-Wuling, Dongfeng Nissan, Beijing Hyundai, Changan Ford, Changan Automobile, Great Wall Motors, and Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile, all of which reported double-digit sales growth that month.

  • SAIC-GM outsold other passenger car makers in China by selling 181,455 units that month, and has grabbed the sales crown since Sept. Volkswagen's emissions cheating scandal, which is continuing to spread worldwide, had little effect on the automaker's sales in China, with Shanghai Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen reporting impressive sales growth that month. Shanghai Volkswagen, for example, sold 178,434 new cars in Nov., representing a year-on-year increase of 49.9%. Other automakers who sold more than 100,000 cars in Nov. include SAIC-GM-Wuling, Dongfeng Nissan, and Beijing Hyundai.

  • Changan Automobile ranked 8th by selling 82,042 units, followed by Great Wall Motors with 80,422 cars delivered. In the first 11 months of the year, Changan Automobile sold 870,000 cars, meeting its annual sales target of 750,000 units earlier than planned. Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile ranked 10th by selling 70,637 units that month.
