All you need to know about this weekend's Echo Park Festival

Music
With a little something for everyone on offer, Echo Park Festival 2015 - taking place this weekend - could be Shanghai's festival of the year. Here's what you need to know:
Who's playing?
International headliners include singer-songwriter Kelis (of 'Milkshake' and 'Millionaire' fame), former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way, renowned hip hop duo Black Star (Talib Kweli and Mos Def), experimental pop band Young Fathers, Manchester-based indie rockers Everything Everything, eclectic producer Bok Bok and drum 'n' bass duo Chase & Status together with MC Rage.

American punk rockers Pennywise, British dream poppers Swim Deep, Australian blues-rock artist Jeff Lang, Japanese hardcore outfit Envy and Korean ska act Kingston Rudieska are also involved. Mainland Chinese and Hong Kong acts include Duck Fight Goose, The Big Wave and Yunnanese all-girl electronic group South Acid Mimi Dance Team.
How much are the tickets?
Damai are still slinging presales at 200RMB a day or 300RMB for the whole shebang. On the door, prices are 260RMB per day or 400RMB for the weekend.
How do you get there?
Take the metro. The festival site is Shanghai Rugby Club which is a few minutes walk from Wuzhou Avenue station on Line 6 - around 45 minutes from People's Square station. Otherwise you're looking at a pretty pricey taxi ride, but the live acts will all be wrapped up in time for you to catch the last metro back.

However you get there, bring some cash - there are no ATMs on site (you'll find some at Wuzhou Avenue metro station if you forget) and no one will be accepting cards once you're there.
Will there be food and drink on site?
Oh yes. Everyone from GumGum and La Coyota to Pie Society and Brother's Kebab will be serving food throughout the festival site. Drinkswise, there'll be Harbin beer available along with cocktails from the Gotham East people at their Calypso Bar, plus a range of softer options including free water from Greenwave.
What else is going on?
Well most importantly, we'll be there. Hooray! Come and find us at the appropriately named Time Out Zone where we'll welcome you with open arms, candy floss, places to just generally chill out and lots, lots more. And if that doesn't tempt you over, perhaps our supply of phone chargers will - we don't want you to miss a (WeChat) moment.

Elsewhere on site there'll be frisbee, Twister, beer pong, a May Pole (!) and loads of other fun and games. Plus, there's a whole bunch of family friendly activities happening throughout both days meaning you can dump the kids ensure your little ones are well looked after while you enjoy the music.
